When can you bring your child in for the first check up? Why is it important?
Per the American Pediatric Dental Association, establishing a dental home for your child when the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday can help prevent dental problems.

Dr Keerthi Golla earned her B.A from the University of Pennsylvania and got her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Univerysity of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed a residency in general dentistry at University of Illinois at Chicago then went on to complete her Pediatric Dentistry residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr Golla is a Diplomate member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, member of the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry. During her free time, she enjoys going out with her family and friends to parks, museums ,
watching movies, reading books, as well as experimenting with new recipes. One of her and her husband’s favorite pass times is having board game nights with family and friends, Cranium is currently the household favorite. Dr. Golla is truly looking forward to meeting your family, having the privilege to care your children and creating a fun, friendly dental home for them.
Dr. Jessica Ray General Dentist (Children Exclusive)
Dr. Jessica Ray has benefited from a wide range of experiences in her 25 years in the field of Dentistry. Dr. Ray is one of an extremely small number of dentists who have worked at all levels of the profession—she has been a Registered Dental Assistant, a Registered Dental Hygienist, and for the past eleven years, a general dentist working exclusively with pediatric patients. Dr. Ray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Loma Linda University and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health in Mesa, Arizona. She is California board certified in oral conscious sedation for pediatric patients, and holds a certificate in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Ray is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Monterey Bay Dental Society and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She enjoys living in Santa Cruz with her husband and two children and Nina the family’s ball python.
Dr. Derick Phan Orthodontic Specialist
Dr. Phan earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California Riverside, and later his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Dr. Phan was then accepted into a prestigious Graduate Residency Program at the Loma Linda VA Medical Center.
After being in private practice in the Salinas/Monterey Bay area as a family and cosmetic dentist, and a year specializing in pediatric dentistry, he chose to complete his orthodontic residency at Jacksonville University Dental School of Orthodontics, where he completed his thesis on Invisalign® and interproximal reduction.
Dr. Phan has been in practice for over 15 years now. He strives to stay on the forefront of the newest orthodontic techniques and technology. He serves as an Opal Evaluation Counsel member to help test, evaluate, research, and develop the latest orthodontic products.
When Dr. Phan is not caring for his patients, you may find him on the slopes snowboarding or playing volleyball. He continues to coach a girls’ high school volleyball team- which he has been doing for over 12 years now.
